To remotely control and/or monitor the field devices—such as RTUs, PLCs, analyzers, data loggers, or flow computers—that has various connectivity features, accessing via a wireless WIFI network becomes necessary if an Ethernet network or the device's own Ethernet connection is unavailable.
Implementing such a scenario requires a router that supports Ethernet-to-WIFI (or WIFI -to-Ethernet) bridging.
In this context, our ERC6R01 product enables the field device to connect to the network via WIFI and communicate with SCADA software.
Thanks to its WIFI Access Point (AP) mode, the device allows for the creation of a WIFI network infrastructure in the field without the need for additional hardware. This feature enables all other devices and computers to connect to one another wirelessly.
The device is equipped with one RS232 port and one RS485 port. The RS485 port supports the connection of up to 256 devices to the bus. This capability distinguishes our device from comparable products, which typically support a maximum of 32 connected devices.
Our device can establish Ethernet or WIFI connections operating as either a server or a client, allowing for the creation of diverse connection topologies and configurations.
